Fine Prep Compost

A plant-based compost, screened fine. It's kept dry year-round, which makes it easier to work with and easier to spread than composts stored uncovered, particularly through our wet months.

A note on debris

This compost carries more plastic than our other plant based compost. Yard waste is processed in bulk, so material blown into piles or dropped in curbside bins gets ground in with the organic matter. The facility removes what it can, but some gets through. If you want the cleanest material, ask us about our alternative source- it costs more and comes in wetter, but it's noticeably cleaner.

Why choose it?

The dry consistency is the reason. Compost acts like a sponge, and our cleaner source is stored uncovered, so it arrives heavy and wet.
