Fine Mulch
Decomposed vegetation, cooked outdoors and screened to a finer product. As it continues to break down it slowly releases nutrition into your soil. We recommend at least a two-inch top dressing.
Why top-dress?
In warm months mulch holds water by preventing evaporation. In winter it insulates plant roots against frost.
Two things to avoid:
Don't mix it into your soil- the wood content leaches nitrogen as it breaks down. And don't rely on it for weed prevention; it's cooked outdoors and carries weed spores. Use Fine Organic Compost instead for limited weeds.
