Dark Fine Bark
The same fine bark, aged longer. Time in the pile darkens the color naturally (dye-free). It behaves the same way: the finest grade of our fir and hemlock, breaking down fastest into the soil, so it won't build up over the years.
Naturally dark, not dyed.
We're an organic company. The color comes from age. Dyed barks coat recycled wood of unknown origin and fade within weeks. This is the same bark you'd get in our standard fine, just further along.
Not splinter-free.
Fir and hemlock bark isn't splinter-free, so it isn't suitable for playgrounds, pet areas, or barefoot pathways.
