Bagged Beauty Bark
2 cubic foot bags. A hemlock and fir bark mixing larger and smaller pieces, bagged for smaller projects. The standard choice for landscape mulch and ground cover: it suppresses weeds, holds moisture in the soil, and evens out soil temperature.
How much and how often?
Apply about 3 inches and refresh every 2 to 3 years. At that depth, one 2 cubic foot bag covers roughly 8 square feet.
Not splinter-free!
Fir and hemlock bark isn't splinter-free, so it isn't suitable for playgrounds, pet areas, or barefoot pathways. For those, see our cedar chips.
