Arena Rock
Rounded gravel sized about three-sixteenths of an inch. Used in horse arenas and anywhere a coarser product is needed, and commonly used in rain garden soils as a drainage aggregate.
Using it on a path?
Line the pathway with a border. The rounded shape means it will travel underfoot.
Sand box alternative?
Arena rock is a popular alternative for play areas. The rounded gravel is easy to dig and scoop, and far less of it ends up in shoes, clothes and carpet.
