Mulch

Description
Mulch is the first screening of our compost. This leaves larger pieces, which blocks sunlight and discourages weed growth. As the mulch continues to age, it will provide a slow release of nutrition into the soil and in turn, your plants. It is the darkest of our top dressings.
Mulch can be a gardeners best friend all year round! It is an excellent top dressing for garden beds and shrubs alike. In the summertime, mulch is great for water retention in the soil. It helps conserve water by preventing evaporation. In the winter time, we recommend placing a 2 inch layer of our mulch around your plants to help insulate their roots in cold weather. This can help prevent losing your plants to frost and it also helps keep them in place as the soil thaws.
